Marvel Rivals: Optimization Guide for Swift Shader Compilation

by Mila Feb 12,2025

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch, a frustrating delay that can take several minutes. This guide provides a solution to significantly reduce this wait time.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game loading times can vary, but Marvel Rivals' lengthy shader compilation is proving problematic for PC players. Shaders are crucial programs that manage lighting and color in 3D environments. While the game's installation might be correct, a workaround exists.

A community-discovered solution involves adjusting Nvidia control panel settings:

  1. Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
  2. Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to global settings and find the "Shader Cache Size" option.
  3. Set a Lower Value: Select a value less than or equal to your VRAM. The available options are limited (5GB, 10GB, 100GB), so choose the closest appropriate setting.

This adjustment often reduces shader compilation time to mere seconds and resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors.

While this workaround is effective, a permanent fix from NetEase Games is still pending. Until an official patch arrives, this method provides a practical solution to avoid lengthy loading delays.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
