inZOI Sells 1 Million Copies in Week, Krafton Eyes Long-Term Franchise

by Sadie May 05,2025

inZOI, the new life simulation game from Krafton, has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling 1 million copies within just one week of its Early Access launch on Steam. This impressive feat marks the fastest sales record for any game published by the South Korean giant, showcasing the game's instant appeal and strong market reception.

Launched on March 28, inZOI quickly grabbed headlines not only for its sales but also due to an unintended bug that allowed players to harm children in the game. Krafton swiftly addressed this issue, releasing a patch to rectify what they described as an "unintended bug." Despite this early controversy, the game has maintained a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam and achieved a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the platform's Games category. Additionally, inZOI skyrocketed to the top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers List by sales revenue a mere 40 minutes after its release.

The game's in-game user-generated content (UGC) platform, Canvas, also saw tremendous engagement, with over 1.2 million participants and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded on launch day alone.

IGN's Early Access review of inZOI awarded it a 6/10, praising its visual appeal and ambition but noting a lack of depth at this stage of development. Krafton attributed the game's success to their proactive promotion and engagement with the community prior to the launch, which helped build trust and momentum. The inZOI global showcase and demo build were particularly highlighted as drawing significant interest.

CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude for the global reception and reiterated Krafton's commitment to ongoing communication with players and the long-term development of inZOI as a franchise.

In response to player feedback, Krafton is committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes throughout April, acknowledging the scale of the game's global community as a "next-level experience" while admitting to some trial and error in optimizing communication strategies.
