Mindi offers two exciting game modes: Hide Mode and Cut Mode. In Hide Mode, the player to the dealer's right selects a card and places it face down on the table, which then becomes the trump suit for that round. In Cut Mode, the game begins without a chosen trump suit, and the first player unable to follow suit determines the trump for the deal.

Once the trump suit is established, the highest card of the trump suit played in a trick wins that trick. If no trump card is played, the highest card of the led suit wins. The winner of each trick leads the next one, and all captured tricks are kept face down in a pile by the winner.

Victory in Mindi is achieved if a partnership captures three or four of the tens. Capturing all four tens results in a special win known as Mendicot.
