This decision comes after widespread backlash when the company revealed that two of the six available classes would be locked behind a launch-day paywall.

Originally priced at $22, the Shadows & Silk DLC was set to feature the Toreador and Lasombra clans along with eight outfits. However, fans reacted negatively upon learning that these core playable factions were included in paid content, considering them essential to the game’s identity rather than bonus material worth nearly half the base price.

"We are listening to you about the Lasombra and Toreador clan access, and we’re making adjustments to reflect this," stated an official tweet from the game’s account.

Several weeks later, Paradox announced refunds for PlayStation Store pre-orders and hinted that further details would arrive on September 17. While some fans hoped for a complete rollback of Shadows & Silk, others worried the studio might simply pad the DLC with extra content to justify its cost.

Fortunately, the publisher has chosen to cancel the controversial DLC entirely and integrate the previously paywalled clans into the main game. "Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition," executive producer Marco Behrmann wrote in a Steam Community post. "That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing."
