The FreeStyle LibreLink app is designed to work seamlessly with both the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors, enhancing your diabetes management experience. By using your smartphone to scan the sensor, you can easily monitor your glucose levels. If you're using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, you'll benefit from automatic glucose readings updated every minute, as well as timely alarms that alert you to low or high blood sugar levels.
Here's what you can do with the FreeStyle LibreLink app:
- View your current glucose result, trend arrow, and glucose history
- Receive low or high glucose alarms when using FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors
- Access detailed reports, including time spent in target range and daily trends
- Share your data, with your consent, with your healthcare provider and family
Compatibility with Smartphones
The app's compatibility can vary based on the smartphone and operating system you use. For a list of compatible devices, please visit FreeStyleLibre.com.
Using Your App and Reader with the Same Sensor
With the FreeStyle Libre 2, you can receive alarms either on your reader or your smartphone, but not simultaneously on both. To get alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor using the app. Conversely, to receive alarms on your reader, you need to start the sensor with your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. Once started with the reader, you can still scan the sensor using your phone.
Remember, the app and the reader do not share data. To ensure comprehensive data collection, scan your sensor every 8 hours with the device you're using. Without regular scans, your reports will not reflect all your data. You can upload and review data from all your devices on LibreView.com.
Information About the Application
The FreeStyle LibreLink app, when used with a compatible sensor, is intended to measure glucose levels for people with diabetes. For detailed instructions on using the app, refer to the User Manual accessible through the application. If you prefer a printed version, you can request one from Abbott Diabetes Care Customer Service.
Before using the product, consult a healthcare professional to ensure it's appropriate for your needs and to discuss any questions regarding its use in making treatment decisions.
For more information, visit FreeStyleLibre.com.
Note: If you use the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you'll still need access to a separate blood glucose monitoring system, as the app itself does not provide this functionality. Also, the alarms you receive do not include your actual glucose reading, so you must scan your sensor to check your glucose level. Using FreeStyle LibreLink and LibreLinkUp requires registration with LibreView.
