Japanese Mahjong is an engaging game that follows the traditional rules of the Japanese style. To play, you'll use a slider located at the bottom of the screen to select and then tap to discard tiles.

The objective of Mahjong is to complete a winning hand, which consists of four Melds and one Pair. For example, a valid hand could be: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4]. However, certain combinations involving Chi, Pon, and Open Kan may not be approved. Be particularly cautious when using 1 and 9 in Chi and Pon, as these can affect the validity of your hand.

In Japanese Mahjong, having at least one valid hand is essential. You can enhance your hand by paying 1,000 points to declare Reach. Note that you cannot declare Reach if you've used Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. A closed hand, one that hasn't used these actions, can yield higher points.

Understanding the concept of a Lost Hand is crucial. A Lost Hand occurs when you are Waiting but cannot win off another player's discard because you have already discarded a winning tile yourself. Even with a Lost Hand, self-drawing is still possible. The key strategy is to never let your opponents Ron (win) with a tile you discard. Always analyze other players' discards to strategize your own winning hand.
