Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila

by Michael Feb 08,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has surpassed five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within two months of its release. This follows a successful international playtest in Manila and a Google Play Best Made in India Game 2024 award win.

This significant achievement positions Indus as a leading contender in the Indian gaming market, challenging competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila YGG Play Summit playtest provided valuable feedback from international esports players.

SuperGaming, Indus's developer, has launched the Clutch India Movement, a major esports initiative culminating in the Indus International Tournament. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, this tournament boasts a INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000) prize pool.

Impressive Growth, Further Potential

While Indus's five million downloads fall short of its ten million pre-registrations, it's important to remember that pre-registrations don't always translate directly to downloads. The lower iOS download numbers also suggest a need to further penetrate that market segment.

Nevertheless, this early success is remarkable. SuperGaming's strategic approach, including rapid international playtests and an esports tournament, demonstrates ambitious plans for Indus's future growth.
