The game revolves around players estimating the number of tricks they can win in each round, with the ultimate goal of accumulating the highest number of points by the end of the game.

Game Overview

Objective: The primary objective of Chinese Pooping is to accurately predict the number of tricks you will win in each round and to accumulate the highest total score by the end of the game.

Game Setup: The game begins with players being dealt a certain number of cards, which increases progressively with each round. In the first round, each player receives one card, in the second round, two cards, and so on. The number of cards dealt continues to increase until it reaches the maximum possible based on the number of players (e.g., with five players, the maximum is 10 cards per player). After reaching the maximum, the number of cards dealt decreases back to one card per player in the final round.

Bidding: The bidding phase starts with the player to the left of the dealer. Each player predicts how many tricks they expect to win. The highest bidder gets to choose the trump suit. There's a crucial rule during bidding: the last player (the dealer) cannot bid a number that would make the total sum of bids equal to the number of cards dealt in that round. For example, if in a round where each player receives 7 cards, and the bids so far are 0, 3, and 2, the dealer cannot bid 2 because 0 + 3 + 2 + 2 would equal 7.

Playing the Round: Once bidding is complete, players play their cards in tricks, with the highest card of the led suit or the highest trump card winning the trick. The player who wins the trick leads the next one.

Scoring: After all tricks in a round are played, points are awarded based on how well players met their bids. If a player meets their bid exactly, they score 10 points plus the number of tricks they won. If they overbid or underbid, they score only the number of tricks they actually won. The player with the highest total score at the end of the final round wins the game.
