The Chess Tempo app offers a comprehensive platform for chess enthusiasts looking to improve their game through a mobile and tablet-friendly interface. Here’s a detailed look at the currently supported features:

CHESS TACTICS TRAINING

Enhance your tactical skills by solving over 100,000 chess puzzles. The app includes both winning and defensive problem types, ensuring a well-rounded training experience. Premium members can take advantage of sophisticated custom sets designed to target specific weaknesses, such as:

• Sets focusing on particular tactical motifs like pins, forks, and discovered attacks.
• Sets that revisit your previous mistakes, allowing you to practice until you get them right.
• Sets utilizing spaced repetition learning algorithms, prioritizing problems you struggle with over those you've mastered.

Note that while custom sets can be used on the app, they must first be created on the Chesstempo.com website.

PLAY ONLINE

Engage in chess battles with other Chesstempo users through both live and correspondence games. After each rated game, receive a thorough post-game analysis powered by a cluster of hundreds of Stockfish instances, delivering high-quality insights in just a few seconds. Premium members can further benefit by having tactics problems extracted from their rated games, which can then be solved within the tactics training UI using advanced custom sets.

OPENING TRAINING

Develop your opening strategies with the ability to create multiple black and white repertoires. Import your repertoires from PGN files or by entering moves directly on the board. Utilize spaced repetition to train your repertoires effectively, with options to limit training to specific branches, a single repertoire, or all repertoires of a particular color. You can also restrict training to a certain depth and focus on moves that are challenging to learn through spaced repetition.

Enhance your training with the ability to comment on positions or moves, view public comments from other users, and add engine evaluations or annotations to each move. Export your repertoires, comments, and annotations to PGN format, and track your learning progress with graphs showing your repertoire learning status and history over time.

Free members can use the opening explorer to choose moves up to a depth of 10 moves, while premium members can leverage the cloud engine for detailed analysis on any position.

ENDGAME TRAINING

Sharpen your endgame skills with practice positions extracted from real games, ranging from 3 to 7 pieces. The app offers over 14,000 different positions, with free members able to access two positions per day. Premium members enjoy more positions daily and can use custom sets to target specific endgame types, focus on recurring mistakes, or employ spaced repetition for more effective training. Note that some custom set types need to be created on the Chesstempo website before use in the app.

GUESS THE MOVE

Improve your game by playing through master games and getting scored on how closely your moves match those of the masters.

ANALYSIS BOARD

Utilize our cloud engines for in-depth analysis of positions, a feature available to premium members. This allows for high-quality analysis without draining your device's battery. Diamond members can request up to 8 analysis threads, significantly increasing the number of positions analyzed per second compared to running an engine on your device.

Set up positions using FEN notation or by arranging pieces on the board with the editor. After completing tactics problems, use the analysis board to better understand the solutions.
