War of Empire Conquest (WOE) is an engaging real-time strategy (RTS) mobile game that pits players against each other in thrilling PVP matches. In WOE, one player sets up a match, and others join to engage in intense battles. With the ability to manually control all types of units and buildings, players enjoy a high degree of freedom and tactical control over their gameplay experience.
Main Elements
WOE brings the medieval era to life with 18 powerful Empires, including China, Japan, Persia, Teutonic, Mongolian, Gothic, and Maya, among others. Each Empire boasts 8 types of regular units, such as Swordsmen, Pikemen, Archers, Light Cavalry, and Aries, which are consistent across all Empires. Additionally, each Empire has a unique unit that sets it apart, like the Riders of Mongolia, War Elephants of Persia, and Conquistadors of Spain.
Buildings play a crucial role in WOE, with structures like Towers, Turrets, Castles, and Blacksmith Shops. For instance, Towers can be fortified by stationing 5 farmers inside, enabling them to shoot 6 arrows at once, while Turrets are specialized for destroying enemy buildings.
Empire Overview
Each Empire in WOE has unique strengths and weaknesses. For example, the Huns don't need to build houses, which saves time and resources, and their Cavalry is both cheaper and upgradable to Rangers. On the other hand, the Teutonic warriors are powerful but slow-moving, reminiscent of historical Spartan warriors.
Gameplay Highlights
The core of WOE's gameplay involves balancing several key actions simultaneously:
- Develop Economy: Continuously produce farmers to gather resources. Use structures like the Town Center (TC) and Towers as temporary shelters for your workforce.
- Harass Enemies: Early in the game, deploy small units to disrupt enemy resource collection, gaining an early advantage.
- Destroy Enemies: Ultimately, your goal is to outmaneuver and defeat your opponents.
Teamwork and understanding unit counters are vital. For example, Pikemen counter Cavalry, Cavalry counter Archers, and Archers counter Pikemen. Special units like the Slave (riding a camel) and the Koryo Carriage can provide strategic advantages against specific enemy units.
Game Modes
WOE features two main resources, Food and Gold, and players can progress through different eras—Dark Ages, Feudal Era, Castle Era, and Emperor Era—unlocking new technologies, buildings, and units as they advance.
The game offers four modes, with Normal Mode and Imperial Deathmatch Mode being the most popular:
- Normal Mode: With limited resources, players must focus on development while deploying small units to harass opponents. This mode offers complex and engaging gameplay.
- Imperial Deathmatch Mode: Players start in the Emperor Era with ample resources, allowing for immediate large-scale battles.
Main Features
Having been available in China for four years, WOE has evolved through numerous updates to version 1.8.n. Key features include:
- Player vs. CPU matches
- Network play for multiplayer battles
- Spectator mode for observing games
- Replay functionality to review past matches
- Map creation for custom games
- Legion formation for cooperative play
- Friends list for social connections
- In-game chat for communication
