Stenciletto: A Geometric Challenge for All Ages

Stenciletto is a progressively challenging game designed to enhance visual and spatial reasoning skills. Using simple geometric shapes, it provides cognitive exercises suitable for children and adults alike. The only prerequisite is familiarity with basic shapes and the concept of a stencil.

Solving Stenciletto puzzles requires a blend of critical thinking skills: visual-spatial perception, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving. While deceptively simple, the game presents a significant cognitive challenge. Players must tap geometric stencils in the correct sequence to replicate a given pattern – a task that proves more difficult than it initially appears.

Developed over a decade by an experienced educator, with input from children, teenagers, adults, and individuals with learning disabilities and brain injuries, Stenciletto has proven rewarding and engaging for diverse groups.

This latest version introduces Education Mode, making it ideal for classroom use. A single purchase unlocks all content, and includes controls for managing content access, internet connectivity, Game Center, and sharing features. Education Mode also supports Family Sharing.

The Game's Origins

Initially known as the Stencil Design IQ Test, Stenciletto was conceived by Grace Arthur, Ph.D., a 20th-century psychologist. Recognizing the importance of non-verbal skills in intelligence, she developed the game to assess the IQ of children who performed poorly on verbal tests. Her research demonstrated that this method accurately measured the cognitive abilities of children, including those from underprivileged backgrounds.

Game Content and Modes

Stenciletto offers two game types: Classic Games, utilizing familiar shapes (squares, circles, triangles, etc.), and World Games, designed for advanced players seeking a greater challenge.

The game features over 600 graded puzzles, with a free set of 60 puzzles available to try. Each paid game includes 15 puzzles. Completing Classic Games rewards players with animated Smilies, representing historical and mythological figures from diverse cultures, adding a fun element to progress tracking.

Multiple game modes cater to different preferences:

• Mortal Mode: A timed, scored mode with leaderboards; players either purchase lives or wait for regeneration.
• Immortal Mode: Unlimited lives; players replenish their life bank as needed. Timed and scored with leaderboards.
• Mindful Mode: Untimed and unscored, allowing for relaxed play.
• Education Mode: Unlocks both Immortal and Mindful Modes (Mortal Mode can be disabled).
