Switch Shader Compilation Mode

NetEase is set to launch an experimental feature to enhance Marvel Rivals’ stability and reduce memory demands. In a post on X on April 30, Marvel Rivals revealed the Switch Shader Compilation Mode, designed to improve gameplay for players, particularly those with lower RAM or facing FPS issues.
The feature was detailed in a blog post on the Marvel Rivals website, addressing player concerns about performance stutters and crashes caused by high memory usage during gameplay.

The blog explains, “To tackle memory overload, we’re introducing the Switch Shader Compilation Mode in Season 2. Players can enable this feature via the PC launcher with the Season 2 update.” It’s recommended for systems with 16GB of RAM or less.
When activated, the feature delivers these improvements:
● Shader compilation runs only when launching the game after a new version or graphics driver update.
● Memory usage is significantly reduced, minimizing severe FPS drops, frozen visuals, and crashes due to memory shortages.
Developers noted potential issues, such as brief abnormal rendering of materials at the start of matches, which stabilizes shortly after. Some stutters may occur but typically resolve during the match.
