Games Workshop Boosts Staff with $27M Bonus Amid Success

by Aria May 25,2025

The success story at Games Workshop, the creators of Warhammer 40,000, keeps rolling forward with the company announcing a generous £20 million (approximately $27 million) bonus for its staff. Based in Nottingham, UK, Games Workshop, known for its beloved Warhammer tabletop games and expansive universes, reported a robust performance for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025. The company saw its core revenue rise to £560 million, an increase from the previous £494.7 million. Licensing revenue also surged to £50 million from £31 million. Core profit reached £210 million, up from £174.8 million, while licensing profit climbed to £45 million from £27 million, culminating in a profit before tax of £255 million, an improvement from £203 million.

In appreciation of the staff's hard work contributing to these stellar results, Games Workshop is distributing £20 million among its employees, a step up from last year's £18 million. With an estimated workforce of 1,500, this bonus translates to approximately £13,333 (around $18,000) per employee. This gesture underscores the company's commitment to rewarding its team's dedication and efforts.

While Games Workshop's primary business remains the sale of miniatures for tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000, the company is increasingly becoming a powerhouse in the IP sector. The success of video games like last year's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, alongside animations such as Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode, showcases this growth. Moreover, the finalized deal with Amazon for Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, which will expand into films and TV series, and the upcoming Space Marine 3, highlight the company's dynamic approach to expanding its IP.

Looking ahead, Games Workshop acknowledges that while licensing revenue has hit record levels, it may not be replicated in the 2025/26 fiscal year, though it will remain a key focus. With Warhammer 40,000 and the Warhammer franchise at their peak, the company's trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.

The recent Warhammer Skulls showcase further demonstrated Games Workshop's momentum, featuring exciting announcements and trailers. Among the highlights were the Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and the new Siege mode for Space Marine 2, reinforcing the brand's ongoing innovation and appeal.
