The halls of Xavier’s Institute are buzzing once again in Marvel Snap, and this time, it's the New X-Men who are shaking up your matches. The card battler's May season is themed around a fresh class of rising stars, including the ambitious Esme Cuckoo, electrifying Surge, and strategic minds like Prodigy, all ready to impact the meta in significant ways.

This month’s season pass in Marvel Snap introduces a new wave of recruits, starting with Esme Cuckoo, a telepathic clone of Emma Frost known for her disregard for rules and hesitation. Her On Reveal effect is a game-changer, pulling a card from your deck, adjusting its cost to three with four Power, and delivering it to you like a psychic grenade ready to explode.

But Esme is just the beginning. Each week, a new Series 5 mutant will join the card pool, bringing unique strategies to your games. You’ll be mastering cost reductions, copycat tactics, and resurrection tricks before the month ends. The upcoming characters include Surge, Prodigy, Elixir, and Xorn. Additionally, Captain Carter’s seasonal pack returns, giving you another chance to grab it if you missed it before.

The new locations this month, Pit of Exile and Genosha, add a dramatic twist to your gameplay. Pit of Exile forces leaner builds and smarter sequencing by shutting down big power plays before they can begin. On the other hand, Genosha sets the stage for final turn bloodbaths by clearing all but your most expensive card at the last moment. Both locations are ready to flip the script on your usual decks.

Beyond the arenas, Marvel Snap is rolling out three new collection albums this month. The first, launching on May 8th, is a collaboration with Penny Arcade featuring variants by Mike Krahulik. This is followed by a chibi-themed collection from Rian Gonzales on May 15th, and a disco-themed dance fest on May 30th, showcasing Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Dazzler in their groove-worthy variants.
