Xbox Franchise Headed to Switch 2, PS5?

Rumor: Halo: MCC and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025

A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for release on both PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The same source indicates a 2025 launch window for these versions of the six-game compilation. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to expand its first-party titles to other consoles, a move already seen with games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls, while not developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, also falls under this umbrella due to its initial Xbox exclusivity. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on other platforms in October 2024, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is expected to follow suit on PS5 in Spring 2025.

Microsoft Flight Simulator's Multi-Platform Future?

NateTheHate also hinted at a potential multi-platform release for a Microsoft Flight Simulator title, likely Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which launched on November 19th. He suggests a similar 2025 release timeframe for PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

More Xbox Games to Go Multi-Platform in 2025

This information is supported by another prominent leaker, Jez Corden, who tweeted that significantly more Xbox games will be making their way to PS5 and Switch 2. Corden believes the era of exclusive Xbox titles is effectively over.

The future of Call of Duty on multiple platforms is also almost guaranteed, thanks to a ten-year agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo consoles. The lack of Switch releases to date may be attributed to Microsoft awaiting the more powerful Switch 2, better equipped to handle the visual demands of modern Call of Duty titles.
