WoW: Midnight Unveils Dynamic Housing Options

by Riley May 05,2025

Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the in-game housing system set to debut in World of Warcraft: Midnight. Although the expansion is slated for release following The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, early previews hint at a customization level that exceeds many players' expectations.

A recent developer blog showcased in-game videos demonstrating the intricacies of furniture placement. The system utilizes a grid layout with automatic snapping, allowing for seamless organization. Players can also adorn larger pieces of furniture, such as shelves or tables, with smaller accessories that remain attached even when repositioned.

The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy and straightforward arrangement, and an Advanced Mode tailored for those with a penchant for creative building. In Advanced Mode, users can rotate objects across all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, facilitating the creation of complex and visually appealing interiors.

A standout feature is the ability to scale furniture, catering to different character sizes. This means that gnomes can craft cozier, more intimate spaces, while larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Additionally, certain pieces of furniture designed specifically for the housing system will support recoloring, though legacy assets may not have this feature.

With the release of Midnight still months away, Blizzard is steadily releasing teasers to keep the community engaged and eagerly anticipating the future updates of the game.
