Wolcen Unveils "ExtrAction RPG" Project Pantheon, Blending Diablo and Escape from Tarkov

Wolcen Studio has just announced Project Pantheon, an exciting new free-to-play combat role-playing game that ingeniously incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The game's first closed alpha testing is set to begin on January 25 for players in Europe, followed by North American players joining the fray on February 1.

"We've blended the tension and risk-reward dynamics of an extraction shooter with the intense battle dynamics of combat role-playing games," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon promises a thrilling experience. The studio is eager to gather feedback from the player community. In the game, players will assume the role of a messenger of Death, striving to restore order in a devastated world.

Players will navigate through maps, engaging in combat with AI opponents and other players. The stakes are high: successfully evacuate, and you'll secure your hard-earned trophies. Fail to do so, and you'll lose all your loot. The game also offers the ability to build your own base, customize your equipment, and experiment with various playstyles. The setting draws from world mythologies, with the in-game economy driven by player trading.

The initial adventures will take place in "Destiny's Edge," a setting inspired by Scandinavian legends. Even though the game is in its early alpha phase, Wolcen Studio is committed to actively involving the community to refine and enhance Project Pantheon.
