Winter Veil's Lore Unraveled in Latest WoW Video

World of Warcraft's Feast of Winter Veil: A Lore-Filled Holiday Celebration

World of Warcraft's annual Feast of Winter Veil, a festive in-game event mirroring Christmas, returns with fresh rewards and activities. This year's celebration is enhanced by a new lore video, a collaboration with PlatinumWoW, exploring the holiday's rich history in Azeroth.

The video delves into the event's origins, weaving together Dwarven myths about Greatfather Winter (a Titan-forged giant), Tauren traditions of gratitude and renewal, and the modern-day commercialization of the holiday by the Goblin-run Smokeywood Pastures.

A History Steeped in Tradition and Mischief

No Winter Veil story is complete without mentioning Metzen the Reindeer, named after Chris Metzen. This unfortunate reindeer has a history of being kidnapped – by pirates and Dark Iron dwarves in Classic WoW, and later by the Grinch in the current iteration. The video concludes with a humorous nod to Metzen's voice acting legacy, with Metzen the Reindeer offering thanks in Thrall's voice.

This isn't PlatinumWoW's first collaboration with Blizzard. Previous projects include lore videos on Nerubians, Vrykul, and the Scourge, as well as content related to World Trees, Blackrock Depths, and various in-game events. This showcases Blizzard's ongoing commitment to engaging with talented content creators.
