Call of Duty: Warzone's Reclaimer 18 Shotgun Temporarily Deactivated

The popular Reclaimer 18 shotgun in Call of Duty: Warzone has been temporarily disabled. The official Call of Duty announcement offered little explanation, leading to player speculation regarding the cause.

Warzone's extensive weapon arsenal, constantly expanding with additions from new Call of Duty titles (like Black Ops 6), presents balancing and technical challenges. Integrating weapons designed for different games (such as the Modern Warfare 3 Reclaimer 18) can result in overpowered or unstable performance within Warzone's environment.

The Reclaimer 18, a semi-automatic shotgun inspired by the SPAS-12, is the latest weapon affected. Its temporary removal, "until further notice," has prompted various theories among players. Some suspect a "glitched" blueprint version, potentially offering unfair advantages. Evidence of this unusually lethal variant has surfaced online.

Player reactions are mixed. Many applaud the developers' proactive approach to addressing overpowered weapons, even suggesting a review of the JAK Devastators aftermarket parts which allow dual-wielding of the Reclaimer 18. This dual-wielding capability, reminiscent of previous games' "akimbo shotgun" builds, has proven controversial.

However, some players express disappointment, arguing the disabling is overdue. Since the problematic blueprint ("Inside Voices") is exclusive to a paid Tracer Pack, concerns about unintentional "pay-to-win" mechanics and insufficient pre-release testing have been raised. The situation highlights the ongoing balancing act developers face when introducing new content to a large and complex game like Warzone.
