Warzone Lobby Crashes Plague Players

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

This issue, first reported on January 6th, 2025, caused significant frustration among players due to the loss of Skill Rating (SR) points and temporary match bans. Following player complaints, Raven Software announced on January 9th that they've temporarily suspended SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unintended consequences of the bug while maintaining penalties for players who leave matches in progress.

The recent spate of issues follows a challenging year for the Call of Duty franchise. Despite a successful 2024, Raven Software has faced ongoing challenges with matchmaking outages, cheating, and persistent bugs. Even a major update in early January 2025 didn't fully resolve these problems. The current loading screen crash is just the latest in a series of setbacks, highlighting the ongoing need for improved game stability. While the temporary fix offers some relief, players eagerly await a permanent solution to prevent further disruptions to Ranked play.
