A Limited-Access, NFT-Powered Experience

As reported by Eurogamer on December 20th, the game expands the universe of the Netflix series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, incorporating elements from other popular Ubisoft franchises like Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed. Access is limited to 10,000 players, each requiring a unique Citizen ID Card purchased as an NFT. This card tracks in-game achievements and rankings, evolving based on player performance.

The Citizen ID Card, a Niji Warrior ID, costs $25.63 and is purchased via Ubisoft's dedicated claim page using a crypto wallet. Players can later choose to relinquish their citizenship and resell their ID cards, potentially increasing their value based on in-game success. A full launch is slated for Q1 2025, with early access for those who secure an ID early. The game's availability is currently listed on Magic Eden, a digital collectibles marketplace.

A Netflix Series Inspired by Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon

Ubisoft Discreetly Releases A New NFT Game

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, the Netflix series that inspires the game, is an animated spin-off of Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon DLC. Set in an alternate 1992 where the US is a megacorporation-controlled technocracy called Eden, the series follows Dolph Laserhawk, a supersoldier who defects and later becomes involved in a complex plot involving betrayal and espionage.

While Ubisoft hasn't detailed the game's storyline, it's set within this same universe. Players assume the role of citizens under Eden's rule, influencing the narrative through mission completion, leaderboard rankings, and community engagement. Their "citizen score" directly impacts the game's unfolding events.
