"TownsFolk Unveils Major Update with New Mechanics, Structures, and Compendium"

Short Circuit Studio has recently unveiled an exciting update for their newly launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Named "Shadows and Fortune," this update brings a darker tone to the charming pixel-art adventure, introducing a host of new mechanics and features for players to explore.

Despite being a fresh release, TownsFolk is already deepening its gameplay experience with the "Shadows and Fortune" update. This update introduces roaming Barbarians, adding a layer of tension to both campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Players will also have access to eight new structures that enhance the strategic aspect of the game: the Altar, Town Square, Blacksmith, Aqueduct, Bank, Granary, Factory, and Terraformer.

The aquatic elements of the game are getting an intriguing update as well, with the introduction of the rare Whale in the water tiles. Additionally, Special Locations such as ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks are being added, increasing the game's unpredictability and depth.

To help players navigate this expanded world, the update includes a comprehensive Compendium, serving as an encyclopedia to keep track of all the new elements. The Exploration System has been reworked, and players can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes, tailoring the challenge to their preference.
