Thomas Waterzooi Debuts Immersive Mobile Art Game

by Aaliyah Mar 27,2026

Thomas Waterzooi is developing another unconventional art-based puzzle game. This time, the experience centers on observation rather than interaction. The new title, Please, Watch The Artwork, is coming soon to mobile devices. It was first revealed during the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025.

Please, Touch The Artwork and its sequel launched in 2022 and early 2024, respectively. Following their success, Please, Watch The Artwork advances the series' experimental take on interactive art with a psychological twist.

This spin-off does not replace the awaited Please, Touch The Artwork 3. Waterzooi has confirmed that the third installment is still in development. For now, you can watch the announcement trailer below.

Please, Watch The Artwork Immerses Players in Eerie Silence and Growing Tension

Fundamentally, it is a spot-the-difference experience. Players take on the role of a night guard at the MaMA (Museum of Animated Modern Art). You observe surveillance feeds of paintings that subtly shift and evolve.

Your task is to identify changes and report them before a sense of creeping dread sets in. Featuring reimagined works inspired by Edward Hopper, the game brings more than 40 paintings to life across six distinct galleries.

You'll encounter scenes such as empty diners, lonely bedrooms, and shadow-filled streets, all animated in seamless loops. There’s no background music—only ambient sounds from each setting. Audio cues are part of the puzzle as well, since unusual noises also count as differences.

Please, Watch The Artwork is coming to Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A release window for the mobile version has been suggested for October. Waterzooi announced the game using an ASMR-style voiceover, enhancing its surreal mood. Visit the official website to learn more.
