Sun Wukong Leaps onto Nintendo Switch Soon

The gaming world often sees projects attempting to capitalize on successful titles. However, Wukong Sun: Black Legend goes beyond mere inspiration, exhibiting significant similarities to Game Science's hit game. Its visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and the plot summary strongly suggest direct imitation.

Currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, the game's future is uncertain. Given the apparent plagiarism, Game Science could pursue a copyright infringement lawsuit, potentially leading to the game's removal from the platform.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: “Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, battling for order in a chaotic world filled with formidable monsters and deadly perils. Explore a narrative inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense combat, breathtaking environments, and legendary foes.”

In contrast, Black Myth: Wukong is a celebrated epic adventure rooted in Chinese mythology. The unexpected popularity of this RPG from a small Chinese studio, including its impact on Steam charts, is remarkable. Black Myth: Wukong boasts exceptional detail, engaging gameplay, and challenging, skill-based combat. While incorporating elements of the Souls-like genre, its accessibility makes it enjoyable for newcomers.

The combat system and progression are thoughtfully designed, avoiding the need for extensive guides while still demanding strategic thinking. Visually, the battles are stunning, showcasing fluid animations. The game's greatest strengths are its setting and visual design, creating an immersive and captivating experience. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
