Stardew Valley Switch Patch Update Announced by Creator

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is actively addressing issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems.
  • The anticipated Nintendo Switch patch will be released "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have been resolved on PC, console, and mobile platforms, but the Switch patch is still in the development phase.

Stardew Valley's developer, ConcernedApe, has taken to social media to update fans about the upcoming Nintendo Switch patch, which will tackle the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues. While these problems have been fixed on PC, mobile, and other consoles, the Switch version is still awaiting its update.

Since its launch in 2016, Stardew Valley has captivated players with its unique gameplay and charming pixel art, becoming a beloved title due to its relaxing mechanics. ConcernedApe has continually enhanced the game with updates that not only introduce fresh content but also resolve bugs and issues reported by the community. A significant update addressing these issues, initially released in December, is now close to being available on the Switch.

ConcernedApe recently used Twitter to reassure players that the Stardew Valley patch for the divorce crash and raccoon shop is "still coming." Although no specific release date was given, the developer promised it would be out as soon as possible. After the rollout of update 1.6 in March, which brought numerous new features such as personalized NPC chats, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals, players encountered several issues. These were subsequently fixed on other platforms, and nearly 20 days after the developer's Christmas tweet about the Switch patch, it's nearing completion.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Update 1.6, launched for PC in March, added a wealth of new content to Stardew Valley, including new NPC interactions, the Meadowlands Farm, and enhanced visuals like waterfalls and seasonal world map changes.

Despite the improvements brought by update 1.6, it inadvertently introduced new bugs, particularly affecting console and mobile versions released in November. An emergency patch was swiftly deployed for the mobile version on November 15, while work continued on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe's transparent communication and swift action in addressing player concerns. Although the patch for the Switch version is not yet available, players can be confident that the developer is diligently working to release it soon.
