Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles Reveals Another New Character

Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles Adds Playable Jar Jar Binks and More!

Aspyr has unveiled a surprising playable character for their upcoming remastered version of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles: Jar Jar Binks! A new trailer showcases the Gungan wielding a large staff in action. This isn't the only addition; Aspyr has also revealed nine other new playable characters, with more to come.

The 2000 original Jedi Power Battles featured iconic characters and locations from The Phantom Menace. This updated release aims to recapture that nostalgic charm while adding fresh content. Along with lightsaber color customization and cheat code support, players will enjoy a significantly expanded roster. Jar Jar Binks' inclusion is a particularly unexpected treat.

The recent trailer provides a glimpse of Jar Jar's gameplay, showing him battling enemies with his staff and delivering his characteristically chaotic dialogue. While some fans may have envisioned a more villainous "Darth Jar Jar" interpretation, this version remains true to the character's comedic nature.

Jar Jar Binks will be playable when Jedi Power Battles launches on January 23rd, and pre-orders are now open.

Newly Revealed Playable Characters:

  • Jar Jar Binks
  • Rodian
  • Flame Droid
  • Gungan Guard
  • Destroyer Droid
  • Ishi Tib
  • Rifle Droid
  • Staff Tusken Raider
  • Weequay
  • Mercenary

Aspyr is significantly expanding the playable character lineup. The ten characters listed above represent just a portion of the additions; further announcements are promised. This diverse selection includes familiar faces like the Staff Tusken Raider and Rodian, alongside various droid types. The Gungan Guard joins Jar Jar as another Gungan representative.

With the release date just weeks away, fans can soon experience these new additions to Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles. Aspyr's past work on remasters, such as Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, should provide valuable experience in delivering a polished and satisfying update for long-time fans.
