Splitgate 2 Announcement

1047 Games, the creators of the popular "Halo meets Portal" shooter Splitgate, have announced a sequel! Prepare for a fresh take on fast-paced arena combat in the Sol Splitgate League, launching in 2025.

A Familiar Feeling, a Brand New Game

The July 18th cinematic trailer showcased Splitgate 2's ambitious vision. CEO Ian Proulx aims to create a game that endures for a decade or more, requiring a reimagining of core mechanics for lasting appeal. The development team focused on refining the portal system, aiming for both casual and expert players to find satisfaction.

Built using Unreal Engine 5, Splitgate 2 remains free-to-play but introduces a new faction system. While retaining familiar elements, the developers promise a completely fresh experience. Expect it on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in 2025.

Gameplay details are scarce, with a full reveal planned for Gamescom 2024 (August 21-25). However, the trailer offers a glimpse of new maps, weapons, and the return of dual-wielding.
