Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories

Sony has unveiled its highly anticipated Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, adding a touch of dark elegance to its lineup of gaming peripherals. This collection includes the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld remote player, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, all sporting a sophisticated midnight black finish.

Pre-orders for the Midnight Black Collection begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch is scheduled for February 20th, 2025.

The announcement follows the excitement surrounding CES 2025 and builds upon Sony's previous releases of colored DualSense controllers, including Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Galactic Purple. The new Edge controller, in particular, boasts a modern design and includes a dedicated black carrying case. While the Pulse Elite headset's price is higher than its predecessor ($149.99 vs. $99.99), it also comes with a felt gray carrying case, along with the earbuds.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its range of themed DualSense controllers, with recent releases including those inspired by God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. A limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is also currently available for pre-order.
