SoMoGa Drops A Revamped Version Of 16-Bit Classic JRPG Vay On Android

SoMoGa Inc. has unveiled a remastered edition of Vay, now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG receives a modern makeover, boasting enhanced visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller compatibility.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay enjoyed a 2008 iOS re-release courtesy of SoMoGa. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.

Remastered Vay: New Features

The revamped Vay features over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout addition is the adjustable difficulty settings, catering to various player preferences.

Convenience is improved with an auto-save function, eliminating frustration. Bluetooth controller support offers flexible gameplay options. Players can acquire new equipment and items, while characters level up, learning new spells and utilizing an AI system for autonomous combat.

The Story Unveiled

Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, the game centers on a colossal, malfunctioning machine that crash-landed on the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay. Its destructive programming unleashed chaos and devastation.

Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a mission that may ultimately determine the fate of the world. The idyllic wedding day is shattered by an attack, leading to an epic journey to confront the war machines.

Vay masterfully blends nostalgic charm with modern enhancements. True to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The narrative is further enriched by nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.

Download the premium version of Vay (priced at $5.99) from the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, explore our other articles, such as "Unlock Love And Goodies With The Loving Reveries Update In Tears Of Themis."
