MH Wilds: How to Skip Cutscenes

Want to bypass cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds? While this installment features compelling storytelling with well-developed characters, some hunters prefer diving straight into the action. Here's how to skip dialogue and get right to the hunt.
Skipping Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds
To skip lengthy cutscenes, simply hold the Y button on keyboard or the back button on controller for approximately one second. Players using alternative control schemes can press any button during a cutscene to reveal the skip command in the top-right corner.
Cutscenes can also be paused midway - perfect if you need temporary interruption without missing story beats. Unlike previous series entries where cutscenes often felt unnecessary, Wilds integrates them meaningfully into the narrative. We suggest skipping only during subsequent playthroughs.
The game offers cutscene replay functionality via the menu system. This allows you to revisit dramatic monster introductions or key story moments at your leisure. While experiencing the narrative out of order might feel disjointed, this feature proves invaluable for capturing screenshots of spectacular creature reveals.
