SETTRIS: Underwater Tetris Hits Android

Japanese game developer ZOO Corporation has launched SETTRIS on Android – a Tetris-inspired puzzle game designed for methodical thinkers. If you enjoy thoughtful, slow-paced brain teasers, this fresh take on block-stacking might intrigue you.

Just Another Block Puzzle Clone?

On the surface perhaps, but SETTRIS establishes its own identity through deliberate pacing and spatial reasoning challenges. The game encourages contemplative play, letting players carefully arrange irregularly shaped polyomino blocks across increasingly complex grids.

The concept involves rotating and flipping geometric pieces to perfectly fill designated puzzle spaces. Early stages ease players in gently, but the difficulty escalates noticeably after the introductory levels. Unlike some puzzle games, SETTRIS offers no built-in hints – success comes through experimentation and spatial problem-solving.

Two Distinct Gameplay Modes

Developers implemented a dual-mode system:

Stage Mode offers 80 progressively challenging puzzles focused on relaxed problem-solving. Each level presents unique board configurations and intricate block combinations that must fit precisely without gaps.

Time Attack Mode introduces pressure with countdown challenges across three difficulty levels (3-block, 4-block, and 5-block variations). Players must complete ten puzzles within five minutes per tier to unlock achievements. The randomized puzzle selection rewards pattern recognition and faster solution times.

Available as a free-to-play title with advertisements, SETTRIS delivers single-player puzzle content exclusively through the Google Play Store.
