SD Gundam G Generation Eternal: US Network Test Opens in New Year

by Emily May 06,2025

Fans of the iconic Gundam series have reason to celebrate, as the much-anticipated SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is far from dead. Despite the silence since 2022, this latest installment in the strategy JRPG franchise is gearing up for an exciting network test. Excitingly, this test will not only be open to participants from Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong but also to fans in the United States! With 1500 spots available, applications are now open until December 7th, offering the first opportunity for lucky entrants to experience the game from January 23rd to January 28th, 2025.

In SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, players will step into the shoes of various pilots from the legendary mecha series, engaging in grid-based strategic battles. When we say "various," we mean an overwhelming array of pilots and mecha from across the entire Gundam franchise, making for a truly comprehensive experience.

While the Gundam franchise is renowned worldwide, the SD Gundam line, standing for "super deformed," may be less familiar to some. These are smaller, stylized kits that allow fans to assemble adorable, compact versions of the iconic mecha. At their peak, these kits were so popular that they even outshone the original models!

Coming to America
I have no doubt that Gundam enthusiasts will eagerly embrace the newest entry in the SD Gundam series. However, a common complaint among fans is the inconsistency in quality and the premature cancellation of some titles in Bandai Namco's lineup. Here's hoping that SD Gundam G Generation Eternal—despite its tongue-twisting name—will be a standout release!
