Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Unveiled: Incredibly Slim Design

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge at its May Unpacked event, marking a new chapter in its top-end smartphone lineup. While the Galaxy S25 Edge closely mirrors the earlier released Galaxy S25 in 2025, its standout feature is its remarkably thinner design, giving it a unique edge over its siblings.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge shares many specifications with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, including the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a high-resolution 200MP camera. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge distinguishes itself with a slimmer chassis, measuring just 5.8mm thick compared to the 8.2mm of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This thinner design also makes the phone lighter, tipping the scales at only 163g.

Despite its slim profile, the Galaxy S25 Edge maintains the same impressive 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display as the Galaxy S25, which is slightly smaller than the 6.9-inch display on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Given its thin and large form factor, durability becomes a critical concern. Samsung addresses this by incorporating the new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, touted to be more durable than the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While this should improve resistance to drops, the real test will be the phone's resilience against bending, especially when subjected to the pressures of daily use in a pocket.

The Galaxy S25 Edge also inherits the "Mobile AI" suite of tools that debuted with the Galaxy S24 and were enhanced in 2025. Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, these AI functionalities can be performed locally on the device, enhancing privacy. However, many AI applications still depend on cloud computing. Samsung offers innovative features like notification and news article summarization, adding convenience for users.

Preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge are now open, with the 256GB model starting at $1,099 and the 512GB model at $1,219. The phone is available in three elegant color options: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Icyblue.
