Coogler Uncertain on Black Panther 3, Ironheart Future

Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and an executive producer on its spin-off Ironheart, has admitted he knows "absolutely nothing" about when the show’s characters will make their next appearance.

Ironheart recently concluded its short two-week run on Disney+, leaving several major cliffhangers that cast uncertainty over where its characters are headed. When asked by Variety about potential future appearances for Ironheart’s protagonist, Riri Williams—such as in the upcoming Black Panther 3, which Coogler is currently writing—the director said he was completely in the dark.

“Honestly, I know next to nothing. I just pulled an all-nighter working on X-Files,” Coogler remarked, alluding to another upcoming project of his—a reboot of The X-Files series.

“I’m excited for whatever Chinaka Hodge, Ironheart’s head writer, has in store, and whatever Kevin Feige brings to the table next,” Coogler added. “I believe the audience will react strongly to that ending, and I’m eager to see these characters return.”
