Rumor: Switch 2 Leak Reveals Possible Joy-Con Images

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Leak: A Closer Look at the Next-Gen Controller

Recent online leaks appear to confirm the design of the Joy-Con controllers for Nintendo's upcoming Switch successor. While the Switch continues to see new releases into 2025, speculation surrounding its replacement is intensifying, especially with Nintendo's confirmed announcement before the end of their 2024 fiscal year. Rumors regarding the Switch 2's specifications and features, including a rumored March 2025 launch, have been circulating widely.

New images, shared on r/NintendoSwitch2 and subsequently across social media, offer the clearest look yet at the Switch 2's Joy-Cons. The images, purportedly sourced from a Chinese social network by user SwordfishAgile3472, showcase the back and side of a left Joy-Con. These images seemingly validate previous rumors of a magnetic connection system, replacing the traditional rail-based design.

Joy-Con Design Details:

The leaked photos reveal a predominantly black Joy-Con with blue accents, mirroring the original Switch's color scheme but with a different color distribution. The images also hint at a revised button layout, featuring noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a third, unlabeled button on the back. This additional button is speculated to be a release mechanism for the magnetic connection to the console.

The leaked Joy-Con design aligns with other recent leaks and mockups of the Switch 2 console, further bolstering their credibility. However, official confirmation awaits Nintendo's anticipated reveal.
