"Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals Preorders Live - Top Tips to Secure"
Get ready, Pokémon TCG fans—the highly anticipated Destined Rivals set is on the horizon, and I'm already clearing shelf space and mentally preparing not to splurge on that Elite Trainer Box I definitely don't need. This set promises a thrilling return of Trainer's Pokémon, another round with the notorious Team Rocket, and stunning card art that's among the finest we've seen in recent times. If you're drawn to dazzling collectibles or simply relish the thrill of powerful cards, this set is not to be missed.
The Pokémon Center website has undergone some "mysterious" maintenance and is now accepting preorders. If that doesn't work out for you (which would be a surprise), keep an eye out for listings to go live at major retailers like Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and others. Get ready to refresh your browser like it's Black Friday to secure those battle decks. Here's all the information you need to lock in your preorder this week:

When Does Destined Rivals Officially Launch?
The official release date for Destined Rivals is set for May 30, 2025. That's when all sealed products will ship and hit the shelves, provided there's any stock left. The Pokémon Company has been addressing ongoing stock shortages, so fingers crossed. Between May 17 and 25, select stores will host pre-release events with Build & Battle boxes and early access tournaments. If you're interested, check with your local league store now—perhaps with a few snacks as an incentive.
What Products Will Be Launching With This Set?
Let's be honest—I'll probably end up buying more than I planned, just like I'll skip the gym more than I intend. Here's what you can look forward to when Destined Rivals launches:
- Booster Packs
- Booster Boxes (36 packs)
- Elite Trainer Box
- Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box
- Booster Bundle (6 packs)
- Triple-pack blisters
- Build & Battle Box
- Build & Battle Stadium
We're also likely to see special collection boxes with alternate art promos, particularly featuring characters like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie. You don't need them, but you'll definitely find a way to justify the purchase.

Destined Origins Cards I’ve Got My Eye On
I'm already envisioning multiple binders filled with these beauties, but a few cards have already claimed a spot on my wishlist:
- Cynthia’s Garchomp ex is a powerhouse. It delivers massive damage, allows hand draw, and exudes the confident aura of a champion who always gets her setup right on the first turn. It's pure champion energy, and I want three.
- Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex combines utility with flair. It accelerates Fire Energy effortlessly, and its Shining Feather ability heals your entire team while dealing a whopping 160 damage. It's incredible, and I'm hooked.
- Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex is all about drama. It won't attack unless you've built a full Rocket-themed deck around it, but when it does, it manipulates energy like a hyper Gengar. It's extravagantly dramatic, and I respect that.
- Misty’s Psyduck is here to make you laugh, then perhaps lose a game in the most endearing way possible. Its ability allows you to discard it to the top of your deck, for reasons that are charmingly vague. I don't care; it's perfect.
- Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex embodies villainous charm with an aggressive Dark-type build that excels in energy acceleration and strategic disruption. It's a dream for any deck focused on disruption, and I'm planning to run it like it's 2020 all over again.
