Pokémon GO strategically introduces new Pokémon, often releasing them gradually through events rather than large-scale updates. This phased approach applies to evolutionary lines, regional variants, Mega/Dynamax forms, and shiny variations. These events usually center around the new Pokémon or a relevant theme, providing players with opportunities to acquire them and earn bonuses.

The Dual Destiny season introduced the Paldean dog Pokémon, Fidough and its evolution, Dachsbun, via the Fidough Fetch event. This guide details how to obtain both.

How to Get Fidough & Dachsbun in Pokémon GO

Fidough and Dachsbun debuted during the Dual Destiny Season's Fidough Fetch event (January 4th-8th, 2025). Fidough appeared as a wild spawn, increasing the chances of encountering it. Additionally, it was obtainable through Field Research Tasks and Collection Challenges.

Alternatively, trading with other Trainers is a viable option. Online Pokémon GO communities like Reddit or Discord are excellent resources for finding trustworthy trading partners.

Dachsbun wasn't available as a wild spawn. Players needed to either trade for it or evolve a Fidough using 50 Candies. Given Dachsbun's potential in battles, comparing Fidough stats before evolution is recommended.

Can Fidough & Dachsbun Be Shiny in Pokémon GO?

Currently (as of the Dual Destiny season), shiny Fidough and Dachsbun are unavailable. However, future events may introduce shiny variants, as is common with Pokémon GO. Until then, Trainers will need to patiently await their release.
