When Does Every Party Member Join In Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Metaphor: ReFantazio's expanding party: A guide to when each companion joins your adventure.

Beyond the protagonist, seven companions will join your quest in Metaphor: ReFantazio, each contributing their unique combat skills. While Gallica is present from the start, her combat role differs from the others.

Note: This guide contains minor spoilers regarding party member recruitment.

Each party member joins on specific in-game dates, triggered by story events. Some arrivals might surprise you, so consider this a potential spoiler warning if you prefer to discover them organically.

Party Member Recruitment Schedule:

Each party member awakens to their Archetype; this Archetype then becomes usable by all party members. Initially, some companions join but aren't immediately controllable. However, later additions awaken to their Archetype just before their first combat appearance.

• Storhl (Warrior): Joins on June 5th (6/5) during the Border Fort events, but his Archetype activates the following day, June 6th (6/6), in the Nord Mines. Until then, he's AI-controlled.

• Grius: Joins after the Border Fort events, but becomes combat-ready on June 6th (6/6). Following Storhl's Archetype awakening, you can summon an Archetype on Grius, making him a full party member. However, unlike others, he doesn't undergo a personal Archetype awakening.

• Hulkenberg (Knight): First interacts with the party on June 10th (6/10), but fully joins after her Archetype awakening during the next day's boss fight, June 11th (6/11).

• Heismay (Thief): Appears as a focus during your free time in Martira. His Archetype awakening and party integration occur on July 4th (7/4) within the town's main dungeon.

• Junah (Masked Dancer): While present throughout the game, Junah joins after her Archetype awakening on August 13th (8/13).

• Eupha (Summoner): Eupha's recruitment offers more flexibility. During free time on Viraga Island (August 19th – September 4th, 8/19-9/4), completing the Dragon Temple Dungeon adds her to your party for the final boss. However, her Bond can only be initiated after the deadline.

• Basilio (Berserker): Awakens and joins on September 11th (9/11) during Saint's Day events, but combat usage becomes available the following day (optional).
