Palworld Dating Sim Confirmed: No April Fools' Prank, Says Developer

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their hit game Palworld! They've announced a new addition to their universe with Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that promises to bring romance into the mix. Announced on March 31, 2025, this isn't an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing raising some eyebrows among the gaming community.

Pocketpair is keen to reassure skeptics that Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project. This dating sim was inspired by last year's April Fools' Day gag, which introduced the concept as a jest. Now, it's becoming a reality, set to launch on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-announced date.

The game takes players to Palagos Private Academy, where they'll step into the shoes of a transfer student. Here, they'll have the chance to befriend and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals. Characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, drawn from Palworld's creature roster, will be part of this romantic journey. The game's unique twist allows players to decide whether to nurture friendships, pursue romance, or take a darker path with their Pals.

Bucky from Pocketpair took to social media to emphasize that this announcement is no laughing matter, stating, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)".

As Palworld marks its first anniversary, with ongoing updates including crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a new photo mode, fans have plenty to keep them engaged while they await the release of Palworld! More Than Just Pals. There's also a glimmer of hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the original game, and perhaps, in the future, the dating sim might find its way to the console as well.
