Nintendo Switch Online Expands its Retro Collection with Four New SNES Games

Beat 'em Ups, Racing, Puzzles, and Dodgeball!

Prepare for a nostalgic gaming experience! Nintendo has unveiled four fantastic SNES titles from the early 90s, bringing diverse gameplay to Switch Online subscribers. This exciting update offers beat 'em up action, high-speed racing, challenging puzzles, and even a dodgeball showdown.

First up: the iconic mashup, Battletoads/Double Dragon. Team up with the Battletoads and the Double Dragon brothers to defeat the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters – the Double Dragon duo and the amphibious Battletoads trio.

Originally released on NES in 1993, then ported to SNES, this title marks a long-awaited return.

Next, get ready for some dodgeball action in Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (known as Super Dodgeball in the West). This fast-paced game features Kunio-kun from the River City series. Compete in various arenas, from indoor stadiums to outdoor beaches, each with unique challenges.

Originally released for Super Famicom in August 1993.

Puzzle enthusiasts will enjoy Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. Similar to Tetris and Puyo Puyo, strategically clear lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Choose from 1P Mode (solo play), VS Mode (head-to-head), or 100 Stage Mode for a true test of skill.

Originally an arcade game (1992), it later appeared on Super Famicom and various other platforms.

Finally, experience the thrill of Big Run! Race across diverse African landscapes, from Tripoli to West Africa, in nine challenging stages. Strategy is key – choose your sponsor, build your team, and manage resources carefully to win.

Initially released for Super Famicom in 1991.

This September update offers a diverse range of classic gaming experiences. Whether you prefer brawling, racing, puzzles, or dodgeball, there's something for everyone!
