"Nintendo Launches Today App: A Hub for Fans' News and Content"

by Eric May 14,2025

Nintendo Today, a fresh app directly from the creators of Super Mario Bros., has been launched to deliver Nintendo news straight to fans in a more immediate way than ever before. Shigeru Miyamoto, a legend in the video game industry, unveiled this exciting news initiative at the tail end of the March 2025 Nintendo Direct. Available for download today on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, this app is packed with features that every Nintendo enthusiast should know about.

Serving as a central hub for all things Nintendo, the app functions as a daily calendar and news platform, providing real-time updates to its users. Following the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Miyamoto explained that fans can log into the Nintendo Today app to stay updated with all the latest news, which will be refreshed daily. This approach is a more direct form of communication compared to the typical Nintendo Direct, encouraging fans to stay informed even outside of major announcements.

As you engage with the app daily, you'll be greeted by beloved characters from the Nintendo universe, including Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing, making each day's start a delightful experience. Beyond news, the app will also feature Nintendo-themed content, such as the Pikmin 4 comic "Too Stuck to Pluck" and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal, enhancing the overall experience for users.

While Nintendo Today may not be the blockbuster reveal of a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game that some fans were hoping for during the Direct, it represents an additional avenue for fans to stay connected with the world of Nintendo.
