Monster Train: A Slay the Spire-Style Game Now on Android
Monster Train, the captivating roguelite deck-building game, has now made its way to Android, following its successful launches on PC in 2020, consoles, and iOS in 2022. Often likened to Slay the Spire due to its genre and gameplay, Monster Train brings a fresh twist to the mobile gaming scene.
What Does Monster Train Bring to Android?
Set aboard a train journeying into the icy core of hell, your mission in Monster Train is to safeguard the last burning pyre from heavenly invaders. What sets this game apart is its unique three vertical lane system. Unlike most games where battles occur on a single battlefield, Monster Train challenges you to manage three lanes simultaneously, adding a strategic depth that keeps gameplay engaging and dynamic.
As you progress, you'll unlock over 250 cards and explore five distinct monster clans, each offering unique playstyles. The ability to mix and match two clans at a time allows for endless strategic possibilities. Additionally, each clan features ten upgrade levels, empowering your cards and enhancing your deck as you play. Champions, the game's most valuable players, can be upgraded multiple times, becoming key to your success.
The Android version of Monster Train includes all the latest updates, such as Wild Mutations and Friends & Foes. Wild Mutations introduces 35 new mutators and new difficulty settings, while Friends & Foes adds new champions, bosses, cards, and artefacts. Moreover, The Last Divinity DLC adds substantial replay value with the new Wurmkin clan, which you unlock by beating Covenant level 1. This DLC also introduces the Pact Shards mechanic, providing powerful boosts and culminating in a formidable final boss, 'The Last Divinity.'
Will You Try It Out?
Monster Train on Android offers a fully offline experience, playable even in airplane mode. The full version is available for $10, with in-app purchases primarily focused on unlocking the complete game. Once purchased through your Google account, your progress carries over across devices thanks to cloud saves. However, be aware that there is no controller support. Dive into the action and strategy by checking it out on the Google Play Store.
