Microsoft Launches Retro Gaming on Game Pass with 50+ Activision Titles from the 80s and 90s

by Camila May 28,2025

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting addition to Game Pass called Retro Classics, in collaboration with Antstream Arcade. This initiative brings over 50 iconic Activision games from the 80s and 90s directly to Game Pass members. Titles like Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat, and Pitfall! are part of this nostalgic lineup, some dating back as far as 45 years. A unique feature of Retro Classics is the ability to save and resume gameplay, a first for many of these classic titles, enhancing the gaming experience significantly.

Microsoft emphasizes that Retro Classics with Game Pass represents "a step in our commitment to game preservation and backwards compatibility." This collection will be accessible to all Game Pass members in regions where the service is available. Over time, Microsoft plans to expand the Retro Classics collection to over 100 games, with new titles added monthly from Activision and Blizzard's extensive back catalog.
