Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Debuts Opening Cinematic

by Christopher Oct 18,2025

As the August launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater approaches, Konami has unveiled the stealth title's opening cinematic.

While featuring minor tweaks, the sequence will feel instantly recognizable to fans of the original, with newspapers flashing onscreen and the James Bond-inspired title track, performed again by Cynthia Harrell, setting the tone.

The clip hints at key in-game moments—without spoilers—including Snake diving backward off a waterfall with Olympic flair and, true to his name, consuming a snake.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater reimagines Konami’s 2004 action-espionage classic, minus the “Delta” in its title. The publisher recently confirmed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater arrives on August 28 and announced the return of the Snake vs. Monkey minigame. The remake retains the suggestive themes of Metal Gear Solid 3, including the Peep Demo Theatre, as noted in its age rating.

“Metal Gear Solid Delta feels more like a polished HD remaster than a transformative remake,” IGN observed in our Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview, commenting on Snake’s new first-person viewpoint. “It’s a stunning nostalgia journey, but perhaps too loyal to the original.” The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earned a stellar 9.6.
