Phasmophobia Haunted Mirror Guide

Using the Haunted Mirror effectively in Phasmophobia

To identify and defeat the most dangerous ghosts in *Phasmophobia*, players sometimes need to utilize risky Cursed Possessions that offer valuable advantages. Among these items, the Haunted Mirror stands out as particularly useful - here's how to use it safely.

Using the Haunted Mirror Effectively

The Haunted Mirror remains one of the safest Cursed Objects in *Phasmophobia*, offering substantial benefits with relatively low risk. Despite numerous game updates, its core functionality remains consistent, making it highly valuable when found during investigations.

This powerful item reveals the ghost's current favorite location by displaying a panoramic view of the room. With map knowledge, players can pinpoint the ghost's position faster and strategically position equipment before the situation becomes hazardous.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror mounted on walls (like at 6 Tanglewood Drive) or placed in its designated spawn location. While Cursed Objects always appear in fixed locations per map, which one spawns is randomly determined.

To activate it, pick up the mirror and use the interaction button (mouse/controller) to hold it up. The reflection will show the ghost's preferred room. Note that ghosts may relocate periodically on Professional difficulty or higher.

Exercise caution when using the mirror - prolonged viewing drains sanity, and keeping it raised continuously will cause it to shatter, triggering an immediate Cursed Hunt at your position. Always monitor your sanity levels and interpret the reflection quickly.

Understanding Cursed Possessions

Cursed Possessions (commonly called "Cursed Objects") are special items that randomly appear across maps, influenced by difficulty settings and Challenge Mode activates.

Unlike standard ghost-hunting equipment that carries minimal risk, these objects provide shortcuts to manipulate ghost behavior at significantly greater danger. Some pose less risk than others, and players must carefully weigh whether to use them - there's no penalty for avoidance.

Normally, only one Cursed Possession appears per contract unless modified in Custom settings. The game currently features seven distinct Cursed Objects:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
