Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown was the first new map to be released in Marvel Rivals Season 1, debuting at the season's launch. This map is designed for the Convoy mode, a payload-style game where players are tasked with either escorting or stopping a moving vehicle as it travels across the map. Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Set under the eerie glow of Dracula’s Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown transforms New York City into a dark and thrilling battleground. The map includes iconic locations from the Marvel Universe, as well as real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks such as:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore’s Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was introduced in Season 1 of Marvel Rivals. This map is the exclusive home to the Doom Match mode, a free-for-all deathmatch where players fight to survive and eliminate others. At the end of the match, players in the top half of the leaderboard are awarded wins, with the highest scorer earning the MVP title.
The Sanctum Santorum is a stunning rendition of Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, which serves as his home and headquarters. First appearing in a 1963 comic, the Sanctum Santorum has become well-known through its appearances in the MCU. Located in New York City, it acts as Earth's supernatural defense in Marvel Rivals Season 1. The map is filled with secrets, easter eggs, and supernatural rooms featuring impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can even interact with Bats The Ghost Dog on the map.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Details about the Central Park map are still emerging, as it is set to launch in the second half of Marvel Rivals Season 1. In reality, Central Park lies in Manhattan, between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side neighborhoods. It has been featured in various Marvel properties, most notably in the 2023 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game.
In Marvel Rivals, the Central Park map will likely revolve around a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. Known for its Gothic architecture, this miniature castle will fit perfectly into the Empire of Eternal Night theme and could serve as a strategic hideout for Dracula within New York City.
These are all the exciting new maps coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 1, enhancing the gameplay experience with their unique settings and challenges.
