Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide

Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter, features a competitive mode with a rank system. This guide details the competitive rank reset mechanics.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each season, your competitive rank decreases by seven tiers. For example, a player ending the season at Diamond I will begin the next season at Gold II. Players at Bronze III, the lowest rank, remain there after the reset.

Rank Reset Timing

The rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1's start date (January 10th, at the time of writing) indicates when the first reset will occur.

Marvel Rivals Rank Tiers

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Players earn points to progress through tiers; 100 points advance to the next tier. The ranks are:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points for Eternity and One Above All. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Length

While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are expected to last approximately three months. New seasons introduce new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps, providing ample time to climb the ranks.
