Marvel Rivals to Add 2 Heroes Every 3 Months

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and exciting for its players through regular updates. The developers plan to roll out a new update approximately every month and a half, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This strategy ensures that there's always something new for players to explore when they return to the game.

In an insightful interview, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each seasonal update is divided into two parts. The first half of the season brings the introduction of one hero, while the second half introduces another. This approach keeps both the audience and the players engaged throughout the season.

Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also enhance the gaming experience with updates that include new maps, stories, and objectives. Fans are eagerly anticipating the addition of characters like Blade, who is not yet playable, and Altron, whose inclusion was hinted at through leaks. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team has been recently unveiled, adding to the excitement.

The game has been a financial success, generating approximately $100 million globally, with significant contributions from the Chinese market, as reported by the Chinese publication GameLook. Marvel, a powerhouse in the film industry, has made a notable entry into the gaming sector with Marvel Rivals.

Despite the challenges faced with Square Enix's Avengers, Marvel Rivals has successfully filled a void in the game-service genre. The NetEase studio has delivered a top-tier heroic shooter featuring a roster of engaging characters, which was well-received upon its launch.
