Marvel Explores Reunion of The Defenders

by Mila May 08,2025

The excitement is building as the next season of *Daredevil* approaches, and with it, the possibility of a *Defenders* reunion. In a detailed profile on Entertainment Weekly, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming and TV, expressed enthusiasm about the potential to bring back the street-level heroes Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.

While nothing is set in stone yet, Winderbaum shared, "It’s certainly exciting to be able to play in that sandbox… Obviously, we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We’re dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television." He further noted, "But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring."

We already know that *Daredevil: Born Again* will continue the saga started on Netflix. Previously, Netflix hosted its own Marvel universe on a smaller scale with shows like *Jessica Jones*, *Iron Fist*, and *Luke Cage*. Winderbaum's comments suggest that *Daredevil: Born Again* might serve as a launchpad to reintroduce these characters on Disney's terms via Disney Plus. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the new season is a clear indication that another Netflix hero has officially transitioned to the Disney platform.

For now, we'll need to wait and see what unfolds in *Daredevil: Born Again* when it premieres on March 4 before we can start speculating on how Daredevil might connect to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe.
