Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed 'Beyond Early 2026'

Another major title has hit the pause button alongside GTA 6, as Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra announces its own postponement.

Following Rockstar’s confirmation that GTA 6 is shifting from May to November 2026, Skydance Games revealed that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now launch “beyond early 2026.” The developer cited the need for additional time "to fully realize our vision," though no specific new release date was provided. This marks another setback for the title, which previously moved from a 2025 window to early 2026 in May.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an immersive narrative adventure starring Captain America, Azzuri (the Black Panther of the 1940s), Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy operating behind enemy lines in Occupied Paris.

The game first gained widespread attention in early 2024 when a striking trailer debuted during Epic Games’ State of Unreal presentation at GDC. Development is currently underway by Skydance Games under the leadership of Hennig (known for Uncharted) and co-president Julian Beak.

Hennig’s team is also developing an untitled Star Wars game, details of which have not yet been fully disclosed.
